Released for the Sega Genesis in 1990, Phelios is a mythological vertical shooter developed by Namco. Players control the knight Apollo as he rides Pegasus through ancient Greece, battling mythical creatures and titans to rescue the goddess Artemis.
How to Play
Use the D-pad (mapped to the arrow keys) to fly Pegasus and dodge incoming enemy fire. Press the A or C button (mapped to Z and C keys) to fire your sword. You can also hold down the fire button to charge a devastating magic attack, releasing it when the gauge is full for maximum damage.
Tips
- Keep moving to avoid getting cornered by enemy projectiles, as Apollo’s hitbox is relatively large compared to other shooters of the era.
- Charging your sword prevents you from firing standard shots, so only use it when you have a clear opening or when fighting larger enemies.
