Panzer Front is a realistic World War II tank combat simulation released for the PlayStation in 1999 by Enterbrain and Shangri-La. Unlike arcade-style shooters, this game focuses on historical authenticity, placing you in command of real-world tanks from the German, Soviet, and American forces. You participate in faithfully recreated historical battles, managing authentic ballistics, armor thickness, and tactical positioning across the battlefield.
How to Play
Your objective is to command your tank platoon, destroy enemy forces, and complete mission-specific tactical goals without being destroyed. Using the browser emulator, maneuver your tank with the D-pad (mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys). Use the face buttons (Z, X, A, S) and shoulder buttons (Q, W, E, R) to aim the turret, select ammunition, and fire the main gun. Press Start (Enter) or Select (Shift) to access the map and tactical menus.
Tips
- Positioning is crucial: Tank armor is thickest at the front. Avoid engaging enemies head-on; instead, flank them to strike their more vulnerable side and rear armor.
- Use the right ammunition: Load Armor-Piercing (AP) rounds when engaging enemy tanks, and switch to High-Explosive (HE) shells to deal with softer targets or infantry positions.
- Mind your ballistics: Shells drop over long distances. Adjust your aim vertically to compensate for gravity when firing at far-away targets.
