Game description:

Panic Bomber (1994) brings the explosive action of the Bomberman series to the arcade in the form of a fast-paced falling-block puzzle game. Instead of navigating mazes, players compete head-to-head matching colored Bomberman heads as they fall into the pit. With classic Bomberman characters, catchy music, and competitive gameplay, it’s an addictive puzzle spin-off that captures the chaotic fun of the original series.

How to Play

The objective is to outlast your opponent by matching three or more blocks of the same color to clear them and send garbage blocks to the other player’s screen. Unexploded bombs will occasionally drop, which can only be detonated by a lit bomb. As you clear blocks, your power gauge fills up, eventually giving you a massive giant bomb to clear out a large portion of your screen. Controls typically use an arcade joystick (mapped to the Arrow Keys) to move the falling pieces, and the primary action buttons (Z or X) to rotate them.

Tips

  • Try to set up chain reactions by stacking blocks so that clearing one set causes the remaining blocks to fall and match another set. Chains send much more garbage to your opponent.
  • Don’t waste your giant bombs. Save them for when your screen is dangerously full, or use them strategically to uncover buried unlit bombs and trigger a massive screen-clearing explosion.
