Game description:

Oni The Ninja Master (also known outside Japan as Metamoqester) is a unique 2D arcade fighting game released by Banpresto and developed by Pandora Box in 1995. Rather than fighting a standard ladder of balanced opponents, this game takes a “boss-rush” approach. Players can choose from three warriorsโ€”Tenchimaru, Kaiohmaru, and Yukihimeโ€”and face off against a series of massive, screen-filling demonic monsters in intense duels.

How to play

The objective is to defeat each giant boss monster before your health is depleted or the timer runs out. Playable solo or in two-player co-op, the game relies on standard arcade controls. Move your character using the directional pad, and use the four action buttons for Weak Attack, Medium Attack, Strong Attack, and a Shoot/Throw Weapon button. Use these to exploit openings and unleash powerful attacks.

Tips

  • Watch for patterns: Because you are fighting giant bosses rather than standard fighters, success depends more on recognizing their attack patterns and finding safe openings than on executing long combos.
  • Utilize co-op: Having a second player can distract the boss, making it much easier to land heavy attacks and survive longer against the challenging difficulty.
