Ninja Commando is a 1992 vertical run-and-gun arcade shooter developed by Alpha Denshi (ADK) for the Neo Geo. You take control of one of three time-traveling ninjas tasked with stopping a villain named Spider from altering history. The gameplay blends classic top-down shooting action with fighting game elements, allowing players to execute powerful special attacks by inputting joystick motions.
How to Play
Your objective is to shoot your way through various time periods, taking out hordes of enemies and defeating the boss at the end of each stage. Use the directional controls to move in 8 directions, attack to shoot your primary weapon, and jump/evade to dodge enemy fire. To use your character’s special techniques, perform fighting game-style directional inputs followed by the attack button. You can also pick up scrolls to enhance your firepower.
- Insert Coin: 5
- Start: 1
- Move: Arrow Keys
- Attack/Shoot: Z or Left Ctrl
- Jump/Evade: X or Left Alt
- Bomb/Special: C or Space
Tips
- Each character has unique special moves performed with joystick inputs (e.g., quarter-circle forward). Experiment with these as they deal massive damage without consuming limited bomb stocks.
- Pay attention to enemy spawn patterns; memorizing where enemies appear makes it easier to survive the chaotic later stages.
- Your standard shot can be upgraded by collecting scrolls; avoid dying, as you will lose your power-ups and revert to your basic attack.
