Mystical Fighter is a 1992 beat ’em up released for the Sega Genesis. Developed by KID and distributed by DreamWorks in the United States, this arcade-style brawler puts you in the role of powerful Kabuki warriors. You fight your way through stages of mythical enemies and bosses inspired by Japanese folklore, using a mix of martial arts, throws, and screen-clearing magic attacks.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive each stage by defeating all enemies and taking down the boss. The default Sega Genesis controls map to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys to move, and Z, X, and C for your A, B, and C buttons to attack, jump, and use magic. Press Enter for Start. You can perform powerful throws by grappling enemies and combining attacks with directional inputs.
Tips
- Conserve your magic attacks for boss fights or when you are completely surrounded, as magic requires collecting scrolls.
- Use throws to toss enemies into each other; this helps manage crowds and keeps you from getting overwhelmed.
