Moon Alien Part 2 is a classic arcade fixed shooter released by Nichibutsu in 1980. Released during the golden age of arcade games, it builds heavily upon the foundation of Galaxian. Players take command of a lone starship at the bottom of the screen, tasked with fending off a colorful armada of alien invaders that break formation and swoop down in unpredictable attack patterns.
How to Play
Your objective is to clear the screen of all alien enemies before your ship is destroyed. The enemies start in a grid formation at the top of the screen, but individual aliens and small groups will frequently dive towards you, firing projectiles. To survive, you must anticipate their trajectories, dodge their fire, and shoot them down.
Controls: Use the Left and Right Arrow keys to move your ship horizontally across the bottom of the screen. Press the Z or X key to fire your lasers. For arcade coin and start prompts, use the Shift and Enter keys.
Tips
- Target diving enemies: Aliens that are actively diving toward you are much more dangerous than those waiting in formation, but they often yield higher points when destroyed in mid-air.
- Keep moving: Avoid staying stationary for too long, as the enemy firing patterns and diving trajectories will quickly overwhelm a stationary target.
- Watch the edges: Enemies swooping down the far left or right sides of the screen can easily trap you in a corner if you aren’t careful with your positioning.
