Momotarou Dentetsu is a classic 1988 train-based digital board game for the NES. Originating as a spinoff of the RPG series Momotarou Densetsu, it established one of Japan’s most beloved board game franchises. Players travel across the railway map of Japan, rolling dice to move spaces, purchasing properties in different cities, and competing to amass the most wealth while racing toward a designated destination station.
How to Play
The objective is to become the wealthiest railway executive by reaching target destinations first and buying profitable local businesses. In the browser emulator, use the arrow keys to navigate the map and menus. Press Z to roll the dice or confirm selections, and X to cancel. Press Enter to start the game.
Tips
Keep a close eye on your remaining distance to the current destination; reaching it first grants a massive cash bonus, while the player furthest away is burdened with the Binbogami (God of Poverty), who will actively lose you money. Invest heavily in agricultural properties early on, as they offer stable, high-yield returns compared to more expensive real estate.
