Game description:

Miracle Ropit’s Adventure in 2100 is a 1987 side-scrolling action game for the Famicom, developed by Micronics (with Animation 20 handling planning and graphics) and published in Japan by King Records. It follows a girl from the year 2100 who operates a small, cute robotic life-form named Ropit as she sets out to rescue her brother, who has been abducted by a UFO on an alien world. Though the game never left Japan, its on-screen text is entirely in English, so it plays fine without any knowledge of Japanese.

How to play

Guide Ropit through the alien world using the arrow keys to move, Z to jump, and X to shoot. Some of the puzzle-platforming sections also call for a wire action to swing across gaps, and the game scrolls in more than one direction rather than sticking to a straight horizontal path. Ropit’s robot body can only absorb one hit — take a second and the girl is knocked out of it, left to run around unprotected and unable to shoot, though repair items found across the twelve stages let her climb back in. As in Ghosts ‘n Goblins, reaching the ending simply loops the adventure back to the start; you have to clear every stage a second time to see the true ending.
