Released in 1993 and published by Data East, this fast-paced Sega Genesis title blends intense shooter action with challenging platforming. You explore sprawling, non-linear levels packed with hidden secrets while heavily armed in a mechanical combat suit. The game stands out for its physics-based plasma grappling hook, which forces you to creatively swing across wide gaps and reach upper platforms while fending off relentless enemy swarms.
How to play
The primary goal is to blast your way through side-scrolling stages, collect power-ups, and survive massive boss fights. Navigating the terrain requires careful timing with your grappling hook and jumps. Use the Arrow Keys to move and aim. Press S to use your grappling hook, X to fire your weapon, and Z to jump. Press Enter to pause or start.
Tips
- Mastering the grappling hook physics takes practice. You can alter your swing length by pressing up or down while attached to a surface.
- Shoot everywhere. Many power-ups and extra lives are hidden in invisible blocks that only appear when you fire at them.
- To activate your screen-clearing bomb, press Down + S (Grapple button). Save these for when you are surrounded or fighting a tough boss.
- Enter ball form by pressing X (Fire) while ducking, but keep an eye on your meter as it drains while active.
