MediEvil is a classic action-adventure hack and slash game developed by SCE Cambridge Studio and released for the PlayStation in 1998. You step into the skeletal remains of Sir Daniel Fortesque, an inept knight mistakenly resurrected as a hero to stop the evil sorcerer Zarok. Set in the gothic, Tim Burton-esque land of Gallowmere, you will fight through graveyards, crypts, and pumpkin gorges to earn your rightful place in the legendary Hall of Heroes.
How to Play
The objective is to defeat Zarok’s undead army while collecting chalices filled with enemy souls to unlock better weapons and health upgrades. You start with basic melee attacks and must balance using shields and ranged weapons as you progress. For the browser emulator, the default PlayStation controls are mapped to your keyboard: move with the Arrow Keys, attack with X (Square) or Z (Cross), and defend or adjust the camera using the shoulder buttons (often mapped to Q, W, E, R or A, S depending on the layout). Press Enter for Start.
Tips
- Fill the Chalice of Souls in every level to access the Hall of Heroes; you will need the upgraded weapons (like the broadsword and magic bow) for later bosses.
- Don’t waste throwing daggers or crossbow bolts on basic zombies. Save your ranged ammunition for shielded enemies and bosses.
- Use Sir Dan’s own skeletal arm as a club early in the gameโit has surprising range and decent damage when you are low on options!
