Magix Rock (also known simply as Magix) is a falling-block puzzle game released for the arcade by Yun Sung in 1995. Built around classic line-clearing mechanics, players arrange falling shapes into solid horizontal rows to clear them from the board. Rather than an endless survival mode, the game challenges you to complete distinct stages by clearing a specific number of lines before moving on to the next level.
How to Play
Your objective is to guide falling blocks into place to create complete horizontal lines, which then disappear and free up space. In your browser, use the Arrow Keys to move the blocks left or right and accelerate their drop, and press Z or X to rotate them. Use Enter for Start and Shift to insert a coin.
Tips
- Keep the board clean: Finishing a stage awards a point bonus based on the number of empty lines remaining, so try to keep your stack as low as possible.
- Prepare for garbage blocks: As you progress into later stages, levels will begin with pre-placed blocks in awkward arrangements, forcing you to think ahead and clear lines strategically to dig them out.
