Mad Gear (also known in some regions as L.E.D. Storm) is a top-down vertical-scrolling racing game developed by Capcom and released for arcades in 1989. You drive at high speeds across distinct environments, managing fuel and battling rival vehicles to reach the end of each stage.
How to Play
Your objective is to reach the end of the stage before running out of fuel. You must collect fuel tanks scattered along the track while dodging or destroying enemy vehicles. For the Arcade version in the browser, use the Arrow Keys to steer and accelerate or brake. Press Z or X to jump over gaps or onto other cars. Press Shift to insert a coin, and Enter to start the game.
Tips
- Watch Your Fuel: Your most critical resource is fuel, which constantly depletes. Always prioritize grabbing fuel tanks over destroying enemies.
- Jumping as a Weapon: You can use your jump ability not just to clear obstacles, but to land directly on top of rival cars to eliminate them safely.
