Game description:

M.I.A.: Missing in Action is a classic 1989 arcade run-and-gun action game developed by Konami. Acting as a spiritual successor to the hit game Rush’n Attack (also known as Green Beret), players take on the role of a special forces soldier tasked with infiltrating hostile territory to rescue prisoners of war. Armed initially with only a combat knife and an assault rifle, you must navigate intense side-scrolling levels filled with heavily armed enemy combatants, guard dogs, and watchtowers.

How to Play

The objective is to fight your way through enemy lines to reach the POW camps at the end of each stage. You can run, jump, duck, and climb ladders to maneuver around threats. Along the way, you can acquire weapon upgrades like a flamethrower, grenades, and bazookas by taking down specific enemies.

  • Arrow Keys: Move, duck, and climb
  • Z / X / C: Attack (shoot/knife) and jump
  • Shift / Enter: Insert Coin / Start

Tips for Survival

  • Master the Knife: Ammunition for your primary rifle is limited. Use your combat knife for close-quarters engagements to conserve ammo for tougher encounters.
  • Keep Moving: Enemies will spawn continuously if you linger in one area. Push forward steadily to avoid being overwhelmed by enemy reinforcements.
  • Use Platforms for Cover: The game features vertical level design. Moving to higher or lower ground can help you avoid enemy fire and strategically eliminate guards from a safer angle.
