Lode Runner – The Dig Fight is a 2000 arcade platformer developed and published by Psikyo as a Japan-only sequel to Irem’s original Lode Runner. This is the Ver B revision, the version most cabinets were factory-updated to before release â it changed the menus, level layouts, and color scheme from the rarer original Ver A build. The game keeps the series’ defining idea intact: clear each stage by grabbing every piece of gold while dodging enemies, now presented with redrawn graphics and a handful of story beats told through static cutscenes.
How to Play
Move with the arrow keys and dig with Z, X, or C â the arcade original runs on an 8-way joystick with three action buttons, so any of the three works. Use Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start. As in every Lode Runner game, enemies chase you across ladders and platforms; dig a temporary hole in the floor beneath a pursuer to trap and eliminate it before the hole seals back up. Clear all the gold on a stage to move on. The cabinet supports two players.
