Last Fortress Toride is an arcade mahjong solitaire puzzle game developed by Metro Corporation and released in 1994. It adds a tense twist to traditional tile-matching: players must clear elaborate tile formations by moving pieces into a limited holding area at the bottom of the screen. If the holding slots fill up before you can form a matching set, the game ends.
The objective is to completely clear the screen of tiles before the timer runs out. You can only select “free” tiles that are not covered and have at least one side open. To play in your browser, press 5 to insert a coin and 1 to start. Use the Arrow Keys to move your cursor and press Z or X to select and match tiles.
Prioritise matching tiles that free up the most covered pieces beneath them to keep your options open. Be careful not to fill your holding slots with mismatched tiles, and look out for special power-up tiles that can help extend your time limit or clear tricky sections when you’re in a pinch.
