Knock Out is a 1982 arcade maze game developed by K.K. International, functioning as a direct clone of their earlier title, Triple Punch. Taking inspiration from the grid-coloring gameplay of Amidar, players navigate a series of rectangles to color in their borders while avoiding a bizarre cast of pursuing enemies.
How to Play
The objective is to paint all the lines on the grid by walking over them. Use the directional controls to move your character around the maze and press the action button to punch. You are chased by an eraser, a ghost, a gorilla, and a deadly fire. Hitting the eraser, ghost, or gorilla three times in rapid succession will knock them out, summoning an ambulance to clear them from the screen. The fire enemy, however, cannot be punched and must be strictly avoided.
Tips
- Save your punches for when you are cornered, as knocking out an enemy provides a brief window to escape or finish coloring a difficult section.
- Prioritize avoiding the fire above all else, since it is immune to your attacks and will instantly cost you a life.
