Klax is a classic arcade puzzle game for the Sega Master System where quick reflexes and strategic planning are key. As colored tiles tumble down a conveyor belt, you catch them with your paddle and drop them into the bin below to form lines of three or more matching colorsโa move known as a “Klax.” Creating horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines makes the tiles disappear, keeping your bin from overflowing as the game steadily speeds up.
How to Play
Move your paddle left and right using the Arrow Keys to catch falling tiles. Press Z or X to drop the top tile from your paddle into one of the five columns below. Your paddle can hold up to five tiles at once. Pressing Up throws the top tile back onto the conveyor belt to buy you some time, while pressing Down makes the incoming tiles travel faster for bonus points. The game ends if you miss too many tiles or if your drop bin fills up entirely.
Tips
- Build Diagonals for Big Points: Diagonal lines award significantly more points than vertical or horizontal ones. Try to plan your drops to complete an X-shape for massive scoring.
- Manage Your Paddle: You do not need to immediately drop every tile you catch. Hold onto them to set up multi-line chain reactions, but be careful not to overload your paddle with five tiles, or you will miss the next one.
- Use the Throwback: If a tile will mess up your current setup, press Up to toss it back onto the conveyor belt so you can deal with it later when you need that color.
