King’s Field III – Pilot Style is a rare, standalone promotional adventure originally released on the PlayStation in Japan to build anticipation for King’s Field III. Fully playable here with a fan-made English translation patch, this short first-person action RPG serves as a unique prequel scenario that is entirely separate from the main game. You explore a dark, trap-filled dungeon, battling monsters with deliberate melee combat and magic in the signature atmospheric style developed by FromSoftware.
How to Play
Navigate the labyrinth and survive its hazards. Standard PlayStation controls map to your keyboard in the browser: use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to move and turn, and the shoulder buttons to look up/down or strafe. Press Cross to attack or interact, Triangle to cast equipped magic, Square to open your inventory menu, and Circle to cancel or run.
Tips
- Watch your stamina: After you swing your weapon, your power gauge must refill before you can strike at full strength again. Retreat while it recharges.
- Search the walls: Secret doors are common in the dungeon. If a path seems to end abruptly, walk along the walls pressing the action button.
- Circle your enemies: Monsters hit hard. Wait for them to lunge, step back or strafe around them, and counter-attack while they recover.
