Jr. Pac-Man is a classic arcade maze game released in 1983 by Bally Midway. Starring the propeller-beanie-wearing son of the iconic yellow hero, it introduces a major twist to the classic formula: the mazes are twice the width of the screen and scroll horizontally. With the traditional wrap-around escape tunnels removed, navigating the board requires careful planning to clear out dots while outmanoeuvring the four pursuing ghosts.
How to Play
Use the arrow keys to guide Jr. Pac-Man through the maze, eating all the dots to complete each stage. Press Shift (or 5) to insert a coin, and Enter (or 1) to start. Grab the power pellets in the corners to temporarily turn the ghosts blue, allowing you to eat them for bonus points.
Tips
- Bonus items like tricycles and kites bounce around the maze and turn regular dots into larger ones if they touch them. These larger dots are worth more points, but they temporarily slow you down when eaten, making you vulnerable.
- Because the maze scrolls and lacks wrap-around tunnels, you can easily be trapped against an edge. Try to clear the far ends of the maze first while you have power pellets available to protect yourself.
