Game description:

Impossible Mission II is a 1990 action-strategy platformer for the NES, developed by Novotrade and released as an unlicensed title by American Video Entertainment. As a special agent, you must infiltrate a series of heavily guarded towers owned by the psychotic genius Dr. Elvin Atombender to thwart his plans for global destruction. Combining platforming with puzzle-solving, the game challenges you to search rooms for hidden musical codes while evading or disabling deadly security robots.

How to Play

Your objective is to collect pieces of a musical passcode hidden inside safes and furniture throughout the towers. Assemble the correct sequence to unlock the central elevator and reach Atombender. Use the D-pad (Arrow Keys) to move and navigate elevators. Press A (Z) to jump, and B (X) to search objects or access your pocket computer to review discovered codes. To progress between towers, you must also piece together three-digit access codes found during your search.

Tips

  • Avoid direct contact with the security robots; instead, use computer terminals to temporarily disable them or reset the room’s elevators.
  • Searching objects takes time. If a robot is approaching, cancel your search, move to safety, and try again when the path is clear.
  • Make regular use of your pocket computer to keep track of the musical fragments you have collected, as you will need them to solve the final puzzle.
