Ikari Joystick Hack Bootleg is a modified version of the classic 1986 run-and-gun Arcade shooter. Originally designed for specialized rotary joysticks that allowed players to move in one direction while firing in another, this bootleg version hacks the game to support standard 8-way joysticks. It retains the intense, military-themed top-down action of the original release while making it fully playable on conventional setups.
How to Play
Battle your way through hostile territory, fighting off waves of enemy soldiers, tanks, and helicopters. Because this version is modified for standard controls, your character will always fire in the direction they are facing. In your browser, use the Arrow Keys to move, and keys like Z, X, or Shift to fire your weapon and throw grenades. Insert virtual coins using Shift and press Enter to start.
Tips
Since the joystick hack links your firing direction to your movement, you cannot retreat while shooting backward. Advance carefully and use your grenades strategically to destroy enemy vehicles and entrenched turrets. If you manage to commandeer an enemy tank, keep an eye out for fuel pick-upsโrunning out of fuel will cause the tank to self-destruct.
