🎮 Play Heavy Barrel World Online (Arcade)

Heavy Barrel is a classic top-down run-and-gun shooter developed by Data East and released in arcades in 1987. Players take on the role of mercenaries fighting to retake a seized underground nuclear missile base from terrorists. Its defining feature is the titular “Heavy Barrel” energy cannon, a devastating superweapon that can only be constructed by finding its six scattered pieces during the mission.

How to Play

Your objective is to blast your way through enemy forces and assemble the ultimate weapon. Since this is an emulated arcade release, use Shift (or 5) to insert a coin and Enter (or 1) to start the game. Move your character using the Arrow keys, and use Z, X, and C to fire your standard weapon and throw grenades.

Tips

• Red enemies drop keys when defeated. Always try to grab these, as you need them to open the locked crates that contain weapon upgrades and pieces of the Heavy Barrel.
• When you finally assemble the Heavy Barrel, its immense power is only available for 99 seconds. Push forward aggressively to make the most of it before it disappears.
• Conserve your grenades for tough situations, like heavily fortified pillboxes or boss encounters, as your standard gun takes longer to destroy them.
