Hammerin’ Harry (known as Daiku no Gen-san in Japan) is a classic 1990 arcade action-platformer developed by Irem. You play as Harry, a determined carpenter on a mission to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend and stop the corrupt Rusty Nailers construction company. Armed with a giant wooden mallet, you’ll fight through vibrant, detailed stages full of rival workers, falling hazards, and chaotic boss encounters.
How to Play
Your objective is to smash your way to the end of each stage, defeating enemies and avoiding hazards. In your browser, use Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start. Move Harry with the Arrow Keys, use Z to jump, and X to swing your hammer.
Tips
- Your hammer isn’t just for offense; you can use it to deflect flying crates and other thrown objects.
- Press up and attack to swing your hammer overhead, protecting you from falling debris and enemies above.
- While jumping, press down and attack to perform a downward slam, which is useful for hitting enemies below or stunning those nearby.
