Grand Prix Circuit is a 1988 Formula One racing game developed by Accolade for DOS. Players compete across eight international tracks in one of three iconic F1 cars: the Ferrari, the Williams, or the McLaren. The gameplay focuses on learning track layouts and mastering the unique handling and top speeds of each vehicle to secure a spot on the podium.
How to play
The game is controlled by the standard DOS directional keys. Use the Up arrow to accelerate and Down to brake. You must shift gears manually, which requires listening to the engine RPM to maintain optimal speed without blowing the engine. Press ‘Right Alt’ + ‘Enter’ for full screen.
Tips
Choose the Ferrari when you are still learning the tracks, as it offers the best handling. The McLaren provides the highest top speed but is much less forgiving on corners. To avoid spinning out, always brake in a straight line before entering a turn rather than braking while steering.
