Go Simulator is a 1992 DOS adaptation of the classic strategy board game Go, published by Ishi Press International. The software provides a digital environment to play the ancient game of territory control, where players take turns placing stones on a grid to surround empty space and capture opponent pieces.
How to play
The objective is to secure more territory than your opponent by strategically placing stones on the board’s intersections. Since DOS games lack a standard control scheme, keyboard layouts can vary. In this browser emulator, use your keyboard to navigate the board and place stones. You can press Right Alt + Enter to toggle fullscreen mode.
Tips
- Start in the corners: Focus on claiming the corners and sides of the board early in the game, as territory is much easier to secure there than in the open center.
- Spread your stones: Avoid clustering your pieces too tightly in the opening moves. Spreading them out helps establish influence across the entire board.
