🎮 Play Ghoulsn Ghosts World Online (Arcade)

Released by Capcom in 1988, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts is a notoriously challenging arcade action-platformer. Players control the valiant knight Arthur as he battles through the gothic Demon Realm to rescue Princess Prin-Prin from the demon lord Lucifer. Renowned for its punishing difficulty and tight run-and-gun gameplay, it remains a defining classic of the genre.

How to Play

Your objective is to guide Arthur through multiple scrolling stages filled with undead creatures, demons, and environmental hazards. You begin with a lance, but can collect other weapons from pots carried by enemies. Arthur’s armor protects him from one hit; taking damage breaks the armor, leaving him in his underwear, and a second hit costs a life. For arcade controls in the browser, use the arrow keys to move, duck, and climb. Press Z to attack and X to jump. Unlike the original game, you can now attack upward, as well as downward while jumping.

Tips

• The dagger is generally the best weapon to find, offering rapid, straight-line projectiles. Avoid picking up the torch, as its awkward arc makes hitting fast enemies difficult.
• Treasure chests hidden in the levels can contain gold, weapons, or magical armor, but they can also spawn a magician that transforms Arthur into an old man or a duck.
• If you find the magical gold armor, you can hold the attack button to charge a powerful screen-clearing magic spell based on your currently equipped weapon.
