Game description:

General Chaos Daikonsen is the Japanese release of the cult classic real-time tactical action game General Chaos for the Sega Genesis. Two rival commandersโ€”General Havoc and General Chaosโ€”pit their squads against each other in chaotic, fast-paced skirmishes. You command a small team of soldiers chosen from five unique classes (Gunners, Launchers, Chuckers, Scorchers, and Blasters) on single-screen isometric battlefields. Positioning and class selection are critical, as you must flank enemies, secure cover, and manage your squad’s health while bullets and explosives fly.

How to Play

Your objective is to defeat the opposing squad by depleting their health. You can move the cursor to issue orders to individual soldiers or direct the whole team.

  • Move/Aim: Arrow Keys (D-Pad)
  • Attack/Shoot/Punch (Close Combat): Z key (A button)
  • Move Unit/Kick (Close Combat): X key (B button)
  • Cycle Units/Block (Close Combat): C key (C button)
  • Pause/Call Medic: Enter (Start button)

Tips

  • Mind Your Range: Each class excels at a specific distance. Chuckers (grenades) and Launchers (rockets) need clear arcs, while Scorchers (flamethrowers) are devastating up close but vulnerable during their attack animation.
  • Win the Fistfights: When opposing soldiers collide, the game zooms in for a close-quarters brawl. Time your punches (Z) and kicks (X) while blocking (C) to knock out the enemy without taking damage.
  • Call Medics Early: If a soldier goes down, you can call a medic to revive them, but the medic must physically run onto the field. If an enemy shoots the medic, they will flee, leaving your soldier permanently dead.
