Game description:

Released in 1978 for Arcade cabinets, Gee Bee is a historic title as the very first original video game developed in-house by Namco. Designed by Toru Iwatani, who would later create Pac-Man, this classic arcade title is a unique hybrid that blends traditional block-breaking mechanics with elements of pinball.

How to Play

The goal is to keep the ball from falling off the bottom of the screen while racking up points by hitting bricks, bumpers, and rollovers. In the browser emulator, use the arrow keys to move your paddles left and right. Press Shift to insert a virtual coin, and Enter to start the game.

Tips

  • Focus on hitting the top bumpers; they increase your score significantly and provide a massive boost if you can keep the ball bouncing between them.
  • Anticipate the ball’s trajectory as it bounces off the pinball-style bumpers, since the physics are different from a standard block-breaker.
