Gangster Town is a 1920s-themed light gun shooter developed by Sega for the Master System in 1987. Stepping into the role of an FBI agent, you are tasked with cleaning up a crime-ridden city by taking down mobsters across various dynamic environments, from downtown streets and bustling bars to the waterfront docks.
How to Play
Originally designed for the Sega Light Phaser, this browser version lets you use your mouse to aim and left-click to fire. You begin with a life meter of five hearts. Quickly shoot armed mobsters as they appear before they can return fire, and clear out each location to eventually face off against the “Big Boss”.
Tips
- When an enemy is defeated, their spirit will float upwards. Shoot the spirit before it leaves the screen to rack up bonus points.
- During the high-speed car chase levels, you can destroy enemy vehicles instantly by shooting out their tires.
- Your performance is graded at the end of each stage. High accuracy and score can earn you an extension to your lifebar, making later levels more forgiving.
