Galaga 3 Set 4, originally released as Gaplus by Namco in 1984, is the high-octane arcade sequel to the beloved space shooter Galaga. This classic shoot ’em up introduces faster gameplay, new enemy attack patterns, and the ability to move your ship vertically as well as horizontally across the lower portion of the screen.

How to Play

Your objective is to survive waves of insectoid alien attackers while achieving the highest score possible. Use the arrow keys to pilot your fighter. Press Z or X to fire your blasters. Insert a coin with the Shift key and press Enter to start the game. Unlike its predecessor, you can collect special Blaster Head power-ups to capture enemies and form a wide phalanx of allied ships.

Tips

Focus on capturing enemy ships when you acquire the Phalanx power-up, as the extra firepower is essential for surviving the faster-paced later stages. Also, keeping your ship higher up on the screen allows you to intercept enemies before they fully form their attack waves, but gives you less reaction time to dodge.
