Released in 2002 by Bandai and developed by Ganbarion, One Piece: Grand Battle! 2 is a classic 3D fighting game for the PlayStation based on the hit anime. As a Japan-exclusive sequel, it builds on the original with a larger roster of 24 playable characters, fully destructible 3D arenas, and explosive Super Arts attacks. Players choose their favorite pirates from the East Blue and Grand Line sagas, dodging hazards and throwing items to claim victory.

How to play

Your goal is to deplete your opponent’s health bar using a mix of basic attacks, item throws, and powerful special moves. Use the directional buttons (Arrow keys) to move in the 3D arenas, and the PlayStation face buttons (Cross, Square, Triangle, and Circle, mapped to Z, X, A, and S on your keyboard) to jump, attack, and use items. Press Start (Enter) to pause the action. Gathering food items during the match will restore health, while grabbing treasure chests provides weapons or support characters.

Tips

• Build the Gauge: Landing attacks and collecting certain items fills your special gauge. Once maxed out, you can unleash your character’s devastating Super Art.
• Use the Environment: Each stage has interactive hazards and destructible objects. Knocking an opponent into the water or into stage traps deals massive extra damage.
• Support Characters: When you pick up a support item, a crew member or ally will briefly jump into the battle to attack your opponent or provide a distraction. Time their usage when your enemy is vulnerable.
