Frog Feast is a classic-style homebrew action game released in 2005 by Rastersoft (Charles Doty) for the Neo Geo arcade system. Serving as a tribute to classic 1970s titles like Frog Bog and Frogs and Flies, the game places you on a lily pad in a straightforward, competitive amphibian showdown. Your goal is simple: leap into the air and catch more passing flies than your opponent before the time runs out. Originally popular on the Neo Geo CD, it has since been ported to numerous classic consoles.
How to Play
The objective is to catch as many flies as possible within the time limit. The frog that eats the most flies wins the round.
- Movement: Use the D-pad (mapped to arrow keys) to direct your jumps.
- Jump & Catch: Press the primary action button (Z or X on your keyboard) to leap towards the flies.
- Start/Select: Press Enter or Shift to begin or pause the game.
Tips for Success
- Time Your Leaps: Don’t just jump constantly. Watch the movement patterns of the flies and time your leap to intercept them at the apex of your arc.
- Deny Your Opponent: Since you are competing for the same pool of flies, jumping slightly earlier than your opponent for a contested fly can secure you the point and break their rhythm.
