Flying Tiger is a fast-paced vertical-scrolling shoot ’em up developed by South Korean studio Dooyong and released for the Arcade in 1992. Known for pushing impressive performance out of older 8-bit arcade hardware, the game challenges players to pilot a fighter ship through waves of air and ground-based enemy forces, culminating in challenging boss encounters.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive the enemy onslaught and defeat the boss at the end of each stage. Use the Arrow Keys to maneuver your ship. Press Z or Space to fire your primary weapon, and use X or Ctrl to unleash a screen-clearing bomb. To begin playing, press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.
Tips
- Pay close attention to the “C” power-up drops. Collecting a white “C” gives you a focused straight shot, while a red “C” switches you to a wide three-way spread pattern.
- Don’t hoard your bombs! You have a limited supply (restocked by “B” items), but using them proactively is crucial when you are overwhelmed by enemy fire.
