Fire Trap Japan Bootleg is an unofficial version of the 1986 arcade action game originally developed by Woodplace Inc. and published by Data East. In this browser-playable arcade classic, you take on the role of a firefighter tasked with scaling burning skyscrapers to rescue trapped civilians. Played from a vertical perspective, you must climb up the building while extinguishing flames and avoiding hazards like falling debris and fireballs.
How to Play
The objective is to climb to the top floor of each building, put out fires using your water spray, and rescue the people trapped inside before you are overwhelmed by the hazards. Since this is an arcade game, the default controls map the joystick to the arrow keys for moving and climbing, with the Z, X, or C keys used for your water spray and other actions. Use Enter to insert a coin and Shift to start.
Tips
- Focus on putting out flames as you climb, as doing so can reveal power-ups like a 3-way water spray, invincibility, or speed boosts.
- Watch the windows carefully for falling objects and sudden fireballs that can knock you off the building.
