Final Fight is a classic side-scrolling beat ’em up developed by Capcom and released for the SNES in 1990. Originally an arcade hit, this home port brings the gritty streets of Metro City to the console. You take control of either the brawling mayor Mike Haggar or the martial artist Cody, fighting your way through the ranks of the Mad Gear Gang to rescue Haggar’s kidnapped daughter, Jessica.
How to play
Your objective is to survive waves of enemies across multiple stages by relying on hand-to-hand combat and any weapons you can scavenge. Move your character with the arrow keys. Use X (button B) to jump and Z (button A) to attack. Pressing Enter starts the game or pauses the action.
Tips
- Use your special attack sparingly: Pressing attack and jump (Z and X) at the same time unleashes a spinning crowd-control move. It gives you invincibility frames but drains a small amount of your health if it connects, so save it for when you are completely surrounded.
- Control the crowd: Try to keep all enemies on one side of the screen. If you get sandwiched between two groups, jump kick your way out to reposition yourself.
- Smash everything: Break barrels, crates, and trash cans to uncover weapons like steel pipes or food items that restore your health.
