Final Fantasy Anthology – Final Fantasy V brings the beloved classic role-playing game by Square to the PlayStation. Originally a 16-bit masterpiece, this release lets you experience the epic journey of Bartz and his companions as they set out to protect the world’s elemental crystals. The game is celebrated for its incredibly deep and flexible Job System, allowing you to freely assign and mix character classes and abilities to create a completely customized party.
How to Play
Your objective is to explore the world, battle monsters in turn-based combat, and uncover the story by protecting the crystals from the evil Exdeath. In your browser, the standard PlayStation controls apply: use the arrow keys to navigate the world and menus, press Z or X to confirm actions and interact, and press Enter to pause or open the main menu to change jobs and equipment. Battles rely on the Active Time Battle (ATB) system, so make sure to select your commands quickly.
Tips
- Master early jobs: Leveling up the Monk class early on gives your characters the Barehanded ability, making them deal massive physical damage without needing expensive weapons.
- Learn Blue Magic: The Blue Mage job can learn powerful enemy skills when struck by them. Try to learn useful spells like “Aero” and “White Wind” as soon as you encounter enemies casting them.
- The Freelancer’s true power: Once you reach the late game, the starter Freelancer class inherits the highest stats and all passive abilities from every other job you have fully mastered.
