Fast Freddie is a classic side-scrolling arcade game developed by Kaneko and distributed by Atari in 1982. Serving as a refined version of Kaneko’s earlier title Fly-Boy, this game puts you in control of a hang glider on a mission to cross hazardous airspace. You must navigate carefully to avoid airborne threats while making your way to the landing pad at the end of each stage.
How to Play
Your objective is to pilot Freddie safely to the landing zone without crashing. You can maneuver your hang glider to dodge oncoming hazards like planes, helicopters, and flocks of birds. Freddie can also perform a kick attack to knock enemies out of the air. To play in your browser, use the arrow keys or D-pad for movement and press the action button to kick.
Tips
- Master the kick: Use your kick defensively. Hitting enemies from the side or slightly below will knock them out of the sky, clearing a safe path forward.
- Collect flags: Keep an eye out for floating flags that spell “BONUS”. Collecting them adds significantly to your high score.
- Watch your altitude: Don’t fly too high or too low, as the edges of the screen can leave you trapped with no room to dodge fast-moving aircraft.
