Developed by MicroProse and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, F-15 Strike Eagle brings authentic combat flight simulation to the 8-bit console. Sitting directly in the cockpit of the air superiority jet, players fly dangerous sorties across hostile military theaters, tracking enemy aircraft on radar, dogfighting MiG fighters, and bombing high-value targets behind enemy lines.
How to Play
Select your combat mission, take off from the airfield, and navigate toward assigned targets using your cockpit HUD and radar scope. Balance fuel consumption and flight speed while switching between air-to-air missiles and ground payloads to complete mission objectives and return safely to base.
- Arrow Keys: Pitch nose up/down and roll aircraft left/right (D-Pad)
- Z Key (B Button): Fire selected weapon (Cannon, Sidewinder missile, or Bomb)
- X Key (A Button): Cycle active weapons / Adjust flight throttle
- Enter (Start): Launch mission / Pause game
- Shift (Select): Switch radar display mode / Toggle HUD options
Tips & Strategy
- Monitor Your Radar Scope: Keep a constant eye on long-range radar to detect incoming enemy MiGs before they get behind your jet and acquire a missile lock.
- Manage Payload and Throttle: Heavy weapon payloads consume more jet fuel at full throttle. Ease off the afterburners while cruising toward long-distance targets to conserve fuel for aerial dogfights.
