Game description:

Developed by Left Field Productions and published by Nintendo in 2000, Excitebike 64 brings the classic 8-bit motocross franchise into full 3D. It pairs realistic physics with varied indoor and outdoor dirt tracks, demanding precision over jumps and careful cornering. The game also includes a robust track editor and a complete, playable port of the original NES classic.

How to play

Your objective is to win motocross races by mastering the rhythm of jumps and managing your bike’s heat gauge to avoid overheating. In the browser emulator, use the Arrow keys to steer and adjust your pitch mid-air. Press X (A button) to accelerate, Z (B button) for a speed boost, and Enter to pause. Balancing your bike properly upon landing is crucial to maintaining momentum.

Tips

  • Land jumps perfectly parallel to the slope of the track to preserve your speed.
  • Monitor your engine temperature gauge closely; overusing your boost will overheat the bike and force a temporary, race-losing cooldown.
  • Cut corners tightly by braking just before the turn to slide the rear of the bike, lining up your acceleration for the exit.
