ESP Ra.De. is a vertical-scrolling bullet hell shoot ’em up developed by Cave and published by Atlus for arcades in 1998. How to Play
Dodge dense waves of enemy fire while fighting your way through the stages to defeat the Yaksa forces. In the browser, use the Arrow Keys to move your character. Press Z for your primary rapid-fire shot. Press X to use the Piercing Cannon, which locks onto enemies and multiplies your damage and score. Hold C to charge and unleash a Guard Barrier (your smart bomb), which clears bullets and heavily damages nearby foes. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.
Tips
- Master the Piercing Cannon: using your main shot in combination with the Piercing Cannon is essential. Enemies defeated while affected by the Piercing Cannon yield significant score multipliers.
- Your Guard Barrier is not just a panic button; you can hold it to charge up its power and duration. Firing the barrier directly into a boss or large enemy deals massive damage.
- Pay close attention to your character’s hitbox. While the character sprites are large, the actual area vulnerable to enemy bullets is only a small point in the center of their chest.
