Elevator Action EX is a revamped version of Taito’s classic arcade action-platformer, released for the Game Boy Color in 2000. It updates the original espionage formula with full color graphics and a character selection system. You must infiltrate a towering high-rise building, steal secret documents from behind red doors, and make your way to the getaway car in the basement without being eliminated by enemy agents.
How to play
Navigate the building using elevators and escalators, shooting or dodging enemies along the way. You can choose from three main operatives: Mike (an all-rounder), Guy (slower but more durable), or Sarah (faster but weaker). Use the D-pad (arrow keys) to move and ride elevators, the A and B buttons (Z and X) to jump and shoot, and Start/Select (Enter/Shift) to pause or select options.
Tips
- Shoot out the ceiling lights to plunge sections of the building into darkness, making it harder for enemy agents to spot and hit you.
- You can crush enemies by dropping an elevator car onto them, but be careful not to get crushed yourself while in the shaft.
- Don’t linger too long on one floor; prioritize finding the red doors and moving downward to the basement.
