Egypt is a puzzle game developed by Human Entertainment and released exclusively in Japan for the Famicom (NES) in 1991. You take on the role of an adventurer trapped in an ancient temple who must help a goddess regain her power. To do this, she takes the form of a spherical jewel, which you must guide across 8×8 tiled grids to solve increasingly complex logic puzzles.
How to Play
The objective of each stage is to eliminate objects by aligning two or more of the same type. You move the jewel across the grid and interact with arrow tiles; stepping on one will cause the corresponding row or column to shift in that direction, moving the items around the board. The standard NES controls apply: use the Arrow Keys (D-pad) to navigate the grid, Z / X (A / B) to interact, and Enter / Shift (Start / Select) for menus.
Tips
- Plan your moves carefully before stepping on arrow tiles. Since shifting a row or column alters the entire line, an impulsive move can easily ruin an alignment you were trying to set up.
- Make sure to write down the passwords provided after completing stages so you can save your progress and resume your puzzle-solving later.
