Double Dribble is a fast-paced 1987 basketball game from Konami, originally an arcade hit before finding a home on DOS. It brings five-on-five action to the court, known for its smooth animations and the iconic cutscenes that play out whenever a player goes in for a dunk.
How to play
You take control of a basketball team in four quarters of full-court play. On offense, use the directional keys to maneuver your player, pass to teammates, and shoot; on defense, you can steal the ball or switch which player you control. Driving to the basket from the right angle triggers one of the game’s famous cinematic dunks.
Tips
- There are “sweet spots” right on the edge of the three-point line, particularly near the top corners of the key, where your shots have a much higher chance of sinking.
- Passing is quicker than running down the court; moving the ball around often creates an open lane for an easy dunk.
