Dogyuun is a vertical-scrolling shoot ’em up released in arcades by Toaplan in 1992. This is the build licensed to Unite Trading for release in Korea. Like the rest of Toaplan’s shmup output from this era, it’s built around fast, dense bullet patterns and large, aggressive bosses, with a distinctive tractor beam that lets you capture smaller enemies and hurl them back as projectiles.
How to Play
Pilot your fighter up the screen through waves of alien forces, using your tractor beam to grab weaker enemies and throw them at targets you can’t outgun directly. In two-player games, docking your ship with the second player’s combines your firepower for a serious damage boost.
- Movement: Arrow Keys
- Fire: Z
- Bomb: X
- Insert Coin: Shift (or 5)
- Start: Enter (or 1)
Tips
- The tractor beam is more than a novelty — grabbing a smaller enemy and throwing it can land a hit on a boss’s weak point that straight fire can’t reach.
- Playing two-player, dock your ships together before a boss fight; the combined firepower makes a real difference against Toaplan’s toughest patterns.
