Diet Go Go is a quirky 1992 Arcade action-platformer developed by Data East. Built on a similar engine to Tumblepop, the game offers a unique spin on the single-screen clearing formula. Players control twin heroes who defend the world from an evil scientist by throwing food to inflate enemies, turning them into giant, bouncing projectiles.
How to Play
Your objective is to clear each stage of enemies before the time limit expires. You must throw food items at enemies to inflate them, then bump into them to send them ricocheting around the screen, taking out other foes in their path. To begin, insert a coin (Shift) and press Start (Enter). Use the arrow keys to move your character, and use Z and X to jump and throw food.
Tips
- Wait until an enemy is fully inflated before bumping them; a maximum-sized enemy will bounce further and clear out larger groups.
- If you get hit by enemy food, your character will gain weight and move much slower. You can burn off this extra weight by moving around continuously.
- Try to group multiple enemies together before launching an inflated foe to rack up high-scoring combo bonuses and reveal hidden power-ups.
