Deroon DeroDero is a competitive tile-matching puzzle game released by Tecmo for arcades in 1995. Later known in the West as Tecmo Stackers, the game challenges you to connect sets of four blocks of the same color to clear them from your board. What sets it apart from similar games is its unique chain-reaction mechanic: when blocks are cleared, the remaining blocks sprout “arms” that can stretch out to connect with other matching blocks nearby, allowing for massive combos.
How to play
As an arcade game, press Shift to insert a virtual coin, then press Enter to start. Use the Arrow keys to move your falling blocks left or right and to accelerate their drop. Press Z or X to rotate the blocks as they fall to set up your matches.
Tips
- Plan for the arms: Since leftover blocks will reach out to grab matching colors after a clear, stack blocks of the same color near each other even if they do not immediately connect.
- Build vertically: The arms can stretch surprisingly far. Try to leave gaps that a stretching arm might bridge to trigger an unexpected chain reaction that drops garbage blocks on your opponent.
