Game description:

Daraku Tenshi: The Fallen Angels is a cult-classic 2D fighting game released for the Arcade in 1998 by Psikyo. Set in a gritty, dystopian post-earthquake city, the game stands out from other fighters of its era with its detailed sprites, atmospheric realism, and impact-heavy combat. Its legacy is heavily tied to its development team, many of whom went on to join SNK and significantly influenced the design and mechanics of later The King of Fighters titles.

How to Play

Choose from a roster of unique underground fighters and compete in one-on-one brawls. In this browser emulator, use the Arrow Keys to move, jump, and block. The attacks are mapped to Z, X, C, and V by default for your light and heavy strikes, allowing you to execute special moves and combos. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.

Tips

  • Master the chains: The game relies heavily on chain combos (pressing light attacks into heavy attacks). Spend time finding your character’s natural combo rhythm.
  • Utilize the dodge: The game features a sidestep/dodge mechanic that is crucial for avoiding projectiles and creating openings against aggressive opponents.
  • Watch your spacing: Because the combat feels more grounded than many hyper-fighters, controlling distance with your normal attacks is often more effective than blindly rushing in.
