Cream in Sonic the Hedgehog is a ROM hack of the classic 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Master System. It swaps out the iconic blue blur in favor of Cream the Rabbit, allowing players to experience the familiar zones and platforming challenges with a new character. While the levels and enemies remain faithful to the original Master System release, taking control of Cream adds a fresh twist to the classic 1991 gameplay.
How to Play
The objective remains the same as the original game: dash through each zone, collect rings, and defeat Dr. Robotnik’s badniks. The controls use the standard Sega Master System layout. Use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to move left and right, or press down to duck and roll. Press Button 1 or 2 (Z or X keys) to jump and attack enemies from above.
Tips
- Keep an eye out for hidden Chaos Emeralds tucked away in the main zonesโunlike the 16-bit version, they are not found in special stages.
- Collecting 100 rings will grant an extra life, which is essential for surviving the tougher later zones.
- Remember that taking damage without any rings will result in losing a life, so always try to hold onto at least one ring.
