Crazy Climber 2 is an arcade action game developed by Nichibutsu and released in 1988. As the sequel to the 1980 classic, it brings the intense skyscraper-scaling gameplay to a new level with upgraded graphics and faster pacing. This particular arcade version is the harder Japanese revision, which ramps up the difficulty with more frequent hazards and tighter timing as you race to reach the helicopter waiting at the roof.
How to Play
Your objective is to scale the building’s exterior, navigating from window to window while avoiding dangerous obstacles. The arcade original used a twin-joystick setup where each stick moved one arm. In the browser, you use the D-pad (arrow keys) and the action buttons (Z, X, C, V) to independently control your left and right arms. You must alternate grabbing ledges to pull yourself upward. If both hands lose their grip, your character will fall.
Tips
Watch out for closing windowsโif your hand is gripping a sill when the window shuts, you will be pinched and lose your grip. Always keep one arm firmly anchored while repositioning the other to avoid being knocked down by falling signs, flower pots, and enemy attacks. Pay attention to the audio cues that signal an incoming hazard from above so you can brace yourself or move out of the way.
